Meet the Team
TweedDogs day care for bored dogs
Co Founder and Partner
Laura has worked with animals for over 25 years, having been an RSPCA Inspector, worked for the National Wildlife Crime Unit and started TweedDogs as a dog walker back in 2014. Laura’s interest in dog behaviour began in 2011 after buying a Border Collie puppy that developed severe behavioural issues. She has spent the past 10 years learning why he behaved in this way. She has currently restricted herself to just 3 dogs(!), Berry, Teg and Charlie. Laura qualified as a Behaviourist under the IMDTB (Institute of Modern Dog Trainings & Behaviourists) in 2020, and the British College of Canine Studies (PETbc Accredited Advanced Canine Behaviour Diploma) in February 2021.

Helen Glover studied at Napier University and attained an honours business studies degree. She inherited her love of animals from her parents and, in particular, love of dogs from her father. The family always included Helen and her 3 siblings together with at least 2 dogs and 2 cats. Helen has 3 children and is never without her beloved 8 year old Labrador, Bonnie, by her side. Helen believes that dogs are as much to the family as children and the same training principles apply to both – distraction and positive reward!
Claire joined the Team in October 2021 and settled in immediately becoming a valued staff member. Claire worked for the Scottish SPCA for 7 years and was promoted to senior animal care assistant within 6 months of employment before transferring to the Society’s new centre that cared for dogs that were awaiting court cases. Her affinity with, and care of, the dogs at the Centre has seen her become a firm favourite.
Meet Laura L
Laura has had family dogs all her life. Her dream job was to work alongside animals, dogs being her favourite. Laura spent 2 years at the Borders College studying Animal Care Level 2 and Animal Care and Management Level 3, in order to get her perfect job – walking and caring for the dogs.
Ian is a lifetime dog lover and has owned his own dogs for over thirty years. He is presently the proud “dad” to ESS Cori and working Cocker Jura who join him every day at the centre. Ian joined Tweed dogs shortly after we opened and is presently our handyman, responsible for maintaining the grounds and equipment, ensuring a safe and fun environment for all our doggy visitors. Ian also assists with the care of our clients when required.
Since TweedDogs start-up in 2016, Beth has regularly volunteered at the centre in-between school term times and now college studies. Beth loves dogs and is a complete natural with them, particularly the puppies and “smalls” who love the care and attention she gives them.
