Our Life Skills School is dedicated to nurturing development and providing a safe and fun environment for puppies to prepare for the wider world.
With a structure that combines socialisation, breed specific enrichment and basic obedience training, we use positive reinforcement to teach your puppy appropriate dog-dog and dog-human interactions, basic obedience training (such as recall, down, and loose lead walking) and address any unwanted behaviours such as jumping up or nipping. Also, if required, after the 6 week session we will carry the puppies through to our graduation process into our full day care service. Each session will have no more than 5 puppies so that a full, personalised, programme can be offered to each and every one.
We will always keep you updated on your puppy’s’ progress, as well as weekly pictures. After each session you will receive a Report Card detailing the activities your puppy has undergone during the session and tips to help you continue with the training.
Slowing introducing adult dogs who are experienced with puppies will ensure they feel confident and ready to meet new friends. If a daycare place at TweedDogs is required, we will then transition the puppies out of LifeSkills across 1 or 2 weeks.
The LifeSkills 6 week programme will be held on Friday mornings between 9am and 12 noon and costs £150. (The two week transition into full daycare following the 6 week programme is £25 a day which would include home pickup and drop off). Please note: puppy owners would be required to drop off and collect their puppies from the TweedDogs Daycare Centre.
The First Programme starts on Sunday August 8th, 2021 – to book a space for your puppy please contact us for an enrolment form or click below to download the pdf to print off at home.

1 to 1 behaviour consultation sessions are designed to address behaviours such as aggression towards dogs or strangers, fear or anxiety, separation issues, and breed specific behaviours such as chasing, digging etc.
These sessions are based in science and use kind, effective approaches to get you and your dog back on track. Certain behaviours can take time and patience to overcome so it is important that owners/care givers understand that
Helping our dogs overcome unwanted behaviours requires collaboration between owner and trainer, plus a commitment in time – your investment in your dog will pay dividends for you both. It is rarely an overnight fix.
These sessions include:
Note: if your dogs’ behaviour is a recent change or an escalation in a behaviour, it is important to first rule out any physical or psychological issue and a full veterinary check should be carried out.
cost £195.00
Recall is one of the most important skills for our dogs to learn in order to let them be “a dog”, to enjoy the environment, run and play. Competing with other dogs, people and wildlife, however, isn’t easy. This workshop will build skills, along with games, to ensure your dog wants to come back to you at full speed.
The session is a 2 hour workshop and will restricted to a maximum of 8 attendees.
If you are interested in these workshops, please contact us to register your interest
Hourly socialisation and play sessions for puppies, adolescents and adult dogs (in separate groups) to allow safe interactions with other dogs in a secure environment, fully monitored by qualified trainer and behaviourist, Laura with opportunities to learn about our dogs body language and how to look out for potential issues during play. Dogs will be allowed off lead however owners must be in attendance and supervise their dogs.
Sessions last approximately an hour and cost £7.50 a session.
